  • Great reply - I've enjoyed your site and blog for some time, please keep up the great work - I'm still in a standard corp job, and am looking forward to taking the leap and being as brave as you and the others.

    Cheers,

    Andy
  • @Andy: Thanks for the nice note. For me, bravery is a combination of (1) having data that says it probably will work, (2) totally frustration with nearly every corporate job I've had, and (3) the inability to get up before 10:00AM.

Eh... you'll get there. It's tough but our economy's making it easier and easier every day.

    Take care my friend.

  • Per above (1) Not even so much. :)
    (2) Check.
    (3) Check, with modifier: can't guarantee arrival in an office.

Inviting negative people to hang out elsewhere is a good move any time. Good on you!
  • Cool, man. I am loving the interviews you do. One of the things I really appreciate about this site is that you're NOT trying to sell a bunch of crap here. What you show, by being down-to-earth and not trying to shove product down our throats, is that a normal person can go out on their own and make a living. That along with the interviews you have are inspirational. So, thanks. And I'm still hanging around enjoying what you do here. I'm hoping I can overcome my hurdles to "financing my freedom"... soon.
  • Clay,

Great work you are doing on this blog. Thanks for sharing. I'll take the quality over quantity any day. I'm looking forward to hearing more about your unconventional approaches for testing business ideas and how you are getting that data.

  • @Betsy: Yeah, good ol' #1 is the most difficult one yet.

@Brandon W: Thanks man. Yeah, not trying to shove stuff down people's throats. Although I may promote KILLER stuff that I use myself.

@David: Awesome. I'll have more stuff on testing soon enough!
  • thank you Clay!!!

I already thought I was the only person interested in self development who thinks getting up before 10 am is stupid.

If you want more of Clay's stuff, just check out www.thegrowinglife.com! I still love it!

  • Thanks again for my dose of motivation. While I will never snark at you for more frequent posts I do look forward to them being in my inbox. Kind of like sporadic gifts - flowers for no reason, latest magazine issue in the mail to curl up with and your blog posts....absence makes the heart grow fonder :)

  • Seems to be a bummer that content site aren't the ones that make money, rather simple splash pages that promote an affiliate product. Don't get me wrong. I enjoy writing. And I love doing it. But I also want to be able to create an alternative lifestyle.

Lately, I have been hammered by PPC "get rich quick now" with keyword rich long tails and escalating CB affiliates. It seems so crowded now that I am unsure of what works.

I surely would like to see a sample site or two, or discover what really works, and what has already been "soaked."

    Thanks... Lee
  • Clay:

    Great video!

I have one request for your blog. When I try to update my RSS feed to go directly here instaled of The Growing Life, The Finance your Freedom seems to be for a podcast and not a blog. Also, I don't see bloglines available (I guess this is now two requests ;-) )

I'd really like to sort out my RSS feed links so bloglines will direct me here instead of The Growing Life. Please help.

(oh, and the RSS for the podcast crashes my browser every time too -- not sure what is to be done about it, just sayin.)
  • Oops -- sorry for the embarrassing typo above (instaled -- meant instead).
  • Thanks for the video post. I've really enjoyed the interviews, and I'm looking forward to some more practical tips, too. It's really difficult to know *how* to test products, etc, if you're a complete newb. Thanks for all your hard work!
  • You are adorable, Clay. Just thought I would leave you a compliment to make you smile!
